My daughter just came back from the US. She visited fam in Mass, PA, TX and Idaho. All of them except for my sister, who is some kind of a half assed therapist for local gov or somesuch, are confirmed, rabid red hats. Full on Trump Reich everywhere. She said the whole country was just floating in joy. Only time she heard anything anti Trump in person was when she was in LA on the way back home and some waitress muttered something about Mexis.
My sister and her husband (a doc for the VA-- so both very much in the public sector) where completely retarded. They live in Idaho and constantly refer to neo nazis who live there openly-- but they live in a Whitopia development filled with SWPLs. They actually cried when Obama gave his goodbye speech. Worse, they insisted on debating her and everything was political-- the topic didn't matter. Then they claimed she couldn't understand what she was saying because she lives in Australia. My daughter graduated with honors from a real university and makes big bucks for her age. When they kept being assholes and wanting to argue with her, she just said she told them "Yeah, but we won." It totally silenced them. Depressing thing is they have three great daughters who will be brainwashed before they start middle school.
I told her I thought I was lucky because at least her mother and I had Reagan. Now she'll have Trump for 8 years and it will be the defining political experience of her lifetime. And I get Trump and Reagan before the dirt nap (and yeah, Trump is 10x better).
IMO, this election was one horrible case of blue balls after the other. During the primary I was waiting for him to win and after he won, I was waiting for him to win the election and after he won the election I've been waiting for Inauguration Day. Each day until the 20th feels like a month. He's done so much already, I can't wait to see what he does when he finally takes office.
I can't wait until Inauguration Day, it's been an insane 2 years.
